Felix the Cat

by Josh Crawley

In situation you missed it, last Wednesday we published an interview by me with Athena Voltaire‘s Steve Bryant about his Kickstarter-funded service model, among other things. For my very first genuine interview (not that I recall ever doing a fake interview), it’s not as well shabby.

In highly-related news, an Athena Voltaire Kickstarter campaign update (unless one more pledge is available in before I surface this column): 84% funded 18 days in. That’s awesome! Remember: if Steve goes above that, it just indicates he can spend even a lot more time making some kick-ass comic books!

And now, back to your routinely arranged programming…

IDW goes premiere! See page 139! IDW has debuted a new style to opt for their new location in the catalog; I like!

Felix the feline the fantastic Comic book Tails

As I look at our providing for this, I realized something missing in our new site’s style that the print Previews catalog providing has: ISBN (978-1-60010-705-4), trim size (7″ x 11″), as well as page count (224). considering that I see their “standard” trim size graphic novels don’t have a trim listed, I believe it’s risk-free to state this is somewhat over-sized, similar to DC’s Deluxe edition hardcovers or Marvel’s Omnibus size. all of that hullabaloo aside, I’m looking ahead to this since I’ve never really seen any type of of these, however I’ve always believed Felix’s style was great.

Negative Burn

Negative shed volume 1

200 pages at 6″ by 9″ (over 10,000 square inches!) of anthologized comic goodness. While I understand anthologies don’t charm to lots of people for a range of reasons, they truly are a fantastic method to sample a fantastic range of material as well as to discover something new that you may not have realized you were missing out on, as well as unfavorable shed always has a high caliber of talent.

And now I jump back to the front of Previews…

Trouble Maker

Troublemaker book 1

This was provided last month, so I’m not rather sure why they’re providing it again. I’m going to be a bit less lazy, since I’m really going to go discover what I composed for it as well as copy & paste it so you can checked out it once again (post-coolant leak): other than the art by Joëlle Jones (note to self, checked out Token), the book has a female lead who’s a mechanic? Awesome! question if she might repair my coolant leak.

Usagi Yojimbo Vol. 8

Usagi Yojimbo Volumes 8: shades of Death, 9: Daisho, as well as 10: Brink of Life & death are back in print; finally! though it would be great if they weren’t taking 4 months to get shipped out.

Eerie

Eerie Archives volume 5

…has one of those amazingly stunning Frank Frazetta covers.

Bettie page Statue

Bettie page woman of our dreams by Dave Stevens Statue

Sadly, this statue doesn’t look rather as much like Dave Stevens art as it should. It appears like somebody made a decision her curves weren’t “21st Century scrawny & lanky” sufficient as well as they stretched out her arms, torso as well as thighs to make them lankier.

Or often a gorgeous drawing must just be left as that: a drawing.

Batman Beyond

Batman beyond #1

Terry McGinnis!

Detective Comics

Detective Comics #866

Stand alone Denny O’Neil -penned tale!

Batman streets of Gotham

Batman: streets of Gotham #13

Bruce Wayne’s returning! In my mind, the sole reason is so Paul Dini can continue this fantastic Tommy Elliot/Bruce Wayne feud we haven’t seen considering that Heart of Hush.

Also, isn’t that an incredible trifecta of Dustin Nguyen covers (with two problems drawn by him!)? If you stated yes, you are correct.

Power Girl

Power woman #13

Sami Basri’s artwork is amazing, however I honestly haven’t cared as well much for Judd Winick’s work in rather some time.

Team-Ups of the take on as well as the Bold

Team-Ups of the take on as well as the strong hardcover

Every single one of these stories I’ve checked out by Straczynski & Saiz has been great! If you aren’t reading these, you most likely must be. The Flash & Blackhawks story was just nominated for an Eisner Award, to ensure that isn’t just baseless hype.

Dark Rain

Dark Rain: A new Orleans story hardcover

I’m a fan of 2-color comics, as well as I’ve heard great things about Incognegro (also by mat Johnson, which I must checked out extremely soon), so you must get this! Well, not truly my logic, however perhaps you got a laugh out of it.

Fables Covers by James Jean

Fables: Covers by James Jean (new printing hardcover)

No mention is made as to whether or not this has the handful of covers not in the original edition, however I truly hope that’s the situation considering that it’s ten dollars a lot more than that edition only a couple of years later.

Madame Xanadu

Madame Xanadu #24
So you checked out my Madame Xanadu Disenchanted evaluation as well as made a decision tobegin choosing up single issues, right? fantastic idea! This problem is the begin of a new storyline, as well as each problem showcases off the talents of some fantastic artists, culminating with series routine Amy Reeder Hadley!

Ame Comi PVC figure Artemis

Ame Comi Heroine Series: Artemis PVC Figure

I’m a sucker for awesome figure repaints as it is, however Artemis?! Aw yeah! Sadly, this is hard for me to decide, since I wasn’t excessively fond of the sculpt around the mouth as well as nose area.

Batman Under the Red Hood DVD Maquette – Red Hood

Batman: Under the Red Hood DVD Red Hood Maquette

When I very first saw this, my very first thought: That’s an incredible Slade-can’t-call-him-Deathstroke-the-Terminator from (the animation Network, not that I recall another) teen Titans cartoon! then I realized it was from one of those Batman stories I didn’t truly care for. Honestly, it still looks killer! (Ha ha! Assassination pun!)

Seems such as this is taking forever. I thought about breaking this up, dear reader, however I want to do a Chicago Comics & enjoyment Expo (A.K.A. C2E2) report next week, so I will be soldiering on! already did IDW, so on to Image, new house to Tim Seeley’s Hack/Slash! Why the step from Devil’s Due? For a quick overview, inspect out rich Johnston’s Bleeding awesome article.

Hack Slash My very first Maniac

Hack/Slash: My very first Maniac #1
Seeley & Nei Ruffino
Jenny Frisson
You can’t go wrong with either cover, however if I had to choose, I’d opt for the Frisson cover. Tim will get over the hurt feelings.

Hack Slash Omnibus

Hack/Slash Omnibus volume 1 (new printing)

Since I hadn’t really gotten any type of Hack/Slash in rather some time, I made a decision to pick up the omnibus editions, however then they went out of print. This may be a late birthday present to myself.

Hack Slash Vol. 3

Hack/Slash volume 3: Friday the 31st (new printing softcover)

This is particularly great to see, considering that we have every other volume in stock at the store. Plus, Seeley isn’t making you select one style over one more (regular volumes vs. omnibus). I hear range is the flavor of life!

Sea Bear & Grizzly Shark

Sea Bear & Grizzly Shark #1

“They got mixed up!” The title states all I requirement to know!

Okay, this is taking as well long. I’m with picture (sorry, top Cow, you’ll get a lot more like soon; promise!). The trip with the rest of Previews will be swift this month.

Starkweather Immortal

Starkweather: Immortal hardcover

I satisfied Dave Rodriguez & Patrick McEvoy method back in the summertime of 2007 at Wizard world Chicago when all of us had books on the Archaia Comics routine (though I was just lettering). long story short, this is a well-written, fantastic looking book that got delayed for rather a long time because of the Archaia Comics restructuring (for lack of a much better term). For a look at the cut-from-the-collection behind-the-scenes digital painting tutorial by McEvoy, discuss to deviantArt!

Darkwing Duck

Darkwing Duck #1

Let’s get DANGEROUS!

Uncle Scrooge

Uncle Scrooge #392

New Gizmoduck?!

Patricia Biggs Alpha as well as Omega

Patricia Briggs’ Alpha & Omega: Cry Wolf volume 1 #2

Order the set to be sure you get the Jordan Gunderson cover!

Last Airbender

Last Airbender motion picture Adaptation graphic novel

I truly hope this motion picture does well, however I likewise hope the artwork looks as great as the solicitation cover for this adaptation.

Sorry I babbled so much. It would have been even a lot more if there weren’t some freaky convergence of all the things I have going on ideal now taking up so much time.

If you see me at C2E2 or the merchant summit beforehand, state “Hi!”
